Rijeka Danas Association was founded in 2011 and since its establishment has been dedicated to promoting various social, cultural, sports and other events through the Rijeka Danas online portal.
The Association operates in the fields of information technology promotion, development of the information society and broadband internet, with a special focus on connecting citizens and public administration through digital technologies. It also promotes health protection, particularly among young people, with emphasis on early detection and prevention of addiction.

The Association’s goals include promotion of social, cultural, sports and other events through the Rijeka Danas online portal; promotion of information technologies, the information society and broadband internet; connecting citizens and public administration through digital technologies; promotion of volunteering; promotion of non-formal education; promotion of social support and assistance; and encouraging responsible health-related behaviour among the population.

The Association’s programme areas include democratic political culture, education, science and research, social activities, technical culture and health protection.
Purpose of the Association
The purpose of the Association is to monitor and publish social, cultural, sports and other events of public interest through the Rijeka Danas portal; to promote and develop volunteering; and to strengthen cooperation with educational, cultural, scientific and health organisations, institutions and associations with similar goals from Rijeka, Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and Croatia.
The Association particularly develops cooperation with educational institutions in the field of non-formal education, provides support to unemployed persons, collaborates with organisations delivering social services, and cooperates with health institutions to promote and improve public health and safety.

The Rijeka Danas Association is a beneficiary of institutional support from the National Foundation for Civil Society Development for the stabilisation and/or development of the organisation.

TOGETHER IN SOCIETY

Area: Primorje-Gorski Kotar, Sisak-Moslavina and Brod-Posavina counties
The project increases social inclusion of elderly persons and persons with disabilities through long-term care, daily support, distribution of necessities and employment of care providers.

PHYSICS IN THEATRE – THEATRE IN PHYSICS EDUCATION

Area: Primorje-Gorski Kotar, Istria and Zadar counties
The project connects physics and theatre through a STEAM approach, developing creativity, critical thinking and STEM skills among students.
LA SCARTAZA – FIUMAN DIALECT COLUMN

A project preserving and promoting the Fiuman dialect through regular publications with Croatian translations.
